Rosemary Patterson, well-known hearing aid provider in Escondido, related how one of her clients, whose hearing was rapidly deteriorating, motivated her to search out what was then Self Help for the Hard of Hearing. With the help of Julie Gomez, area coordinator for SHHH, Rosemary established the Escondido Chapter. It took much work and dedication on the part of Rosemary to start the first meeting and nurture the infant Chapter until the members were able to keep the Chapter operating.

Also invited to the anniversary meeting was David Illich, well known area audiologist, who participated in the early meetings of the chapter and has been a strong supporter throughout the years.

Doctor of Audiology

Two of our Escondido Audiologists in recent months earned their Doctorate in Audiology. Dr. David Illich and Dr. Margie Houston are great supporters of HLA Escondido. We congratulate both Margie and David on this accomplishment.
